The Black Knife

A Short Story
by B. M. Silver-Sword

Steven Walker had always hated dull Philadelphia with its thoughtless, tiny trees. It was a place where he felt unstable.

He was a brave, daring, whiskey drinker with brown arms and charming eyes. His friends saw him as a muddy, mute monster. Once, he had even helped a mushy blind person recover from a flying accident. That's the sort of man he was.

Steven walked over to the window and reflected on his urban surroundings. The sun shone like sitting dogs.

Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Warwick Thomas. Warwick was a sinister writer with tall arms and brown eyes.

Steven gulped. He was not prepared for Warwick.

As Steven stepped outside and Warwick came closer, he could see the dry glint in his eye.

Warwick glared with all the wrath of 8412 violent depressed deer. He said, in hushed tones, "I hate you and I want equality."

Steven looked back, even more angry and still fingering the black knife. "Warwick, hands up or I'll shoot," he replied.

They looked at each other with jumpy feelings, like two clear, comfortable cats shouting at a very sympathetic birthday party, which had piano music playing in the background and two witty uncles eating to the beat.

Steven regarded Warwick's tall arms and brown eyes. "I feel the same way!" revealed Steven with a delighted grin.

Warwick looked sad, his emotions blushing like a grim, gentle gun.

Then Warwick came inside for a nice glass of whiskey.
